I love this app it helps me so much. I highly recommend it.

Cool, this app is so amazing! It saves a lot of time from writing a lot of text, instead I can take a snapshot of the text & instantly recognizes the text.

I am completely delighted with the ability of text grabber to OCR text. The crop feature can reduce text to a single sentence. And the app has been able to translate text from a small size compared with other OCR apps. In addition this app translates with amazing speeds. This is one of my favorite apps that I am quite pleased with.

.. Translate capability. I consider it indispensable. Let me say that I have not used the camera feature in this app except as a test and the clarity was quite good. I generally take screenshots, then read them and either translate or pull out quotes I need to include in papers etc.. For that it has worked perfectly on my iPhone and iPad for the most part, unless the text is incredibly small or the words are underlined and then there are some negligible errors. As for translating capability, that is on Google and the user. No language is going to translate perfect, word for word into your language of choice. Some words in a culture mean just that given word and if you test out one word in Google Translate, you will see in some languages words can mean 25 different things and Google is telling you its interpretation. It will not rearrange sentences correctly; the user has to understand structure and apply it. I use this app everyday and it is more than worth the price, especially if you need speedy, somewhat accurate translations in order to respond in a language you both know. If anyone tries to use a translator to communicate in a language they dont know, there will be a lot of laughter at the receiving end, lol. I use the OCR ability more, however, for editing text. Trust me, a couple of errors and copy paste ability is better than me having to copy the pages, word by word.

I will keep trying to use this, but my first attempt of an English recipe was poor OCR. It was garbage, and only occasionally did I find an actual word.

Firstly, integration with other apps is great, esp. Evernote. The app takes you to a well-designed screen, where you can select notebook and tags very fast. As for its recognition performance, Im surprised by the negative rev .s, Ive scanned hundreds of paragraphs/pages with this, and never fell under 90-95% at any point with printed PDFs, books and e-ink kindle screen. (Just following basic instructions, no lab-conditions here) Its attractively fast too. I only have problems if the background/text color is unusual (eg. Yellow on black) OR if its handwriting.

Each version got better. I really like this one.

TurboScan and similar apps are great for "scanning documents", but sometimes you just want simple, painless, lightweight OCR. Awesome for copying annoying text like random passwords (on friends routers for example), serial numbers, etc.!

Great app, but what is going on with that Albums tab? What a mess. A massive list of photo collections in apparently random order, will All Photos buried at the bottom. Think about the most likely use case. A user has just acquired a photo (for instance, saved it from the web or did a screen capture) and wants to grab some text from it. The user is forced to scroll through old photo albums (potentially pages of them, again, arranged in no discernible order) to get to the option 99% of users will need. This thoughtless fail turns a solid 5 star app into a 4 star app.

I wish that Id had this app years ago. It would have saved me so much effort. Its really easy to use, accurate and fast.

This app is exactly what Ive been looking for!

I use this application frequently when Im reading something and its especially good; I take a picture of it and then the app turns it into text. Good app.

In my opinion at least I think the recent attention the developers have given this App fortifies that this is the best App like it in the App Store.

This doesnt recognize any handwritten things or text Ive snapped a picture of.

I prefer reading paperback books over ebooks and this app does a great job in helping me scan important quotes and compile notes! Keep up the great work.
